Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 21, 2026 · Last updated: October 21, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Drobe ("Drobe", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use the Drobe: Wardrobe & Stylist iOS app (the "App"), this website at drobe-app.com, and related services (together, the "Services").

Drobe is the controller of the personal data described here (see Contact us). You can reach us at support@drobe-app.com.

The short version. Drobe needs the photos you choose in order to build your digital wardrobe and power its AI features. Matching your face to find your photos happens on your iPhone. Pieces in Pinterest pins are also found on your iPhone, and pins are never sent to an AI service. Your selected photos are processed on our servers and by OpenAI. We don't show ads, we don't sell or share your personal data for advertising, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites. You can delete your account and data in the App at any time.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, your name if you provide it, and the identifiers needed to sign you in. If you use Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, we receive the name and email address (or Apple's private relay address) that the provider shares with us. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider, Clerk. We never see them.
  • Photos you choose. These are photos of outfits and clothing that you take with the camera, pick from your library or approve after the on-device search. They also include photos of yourself that you select for virtual try-on. These photos may show your face and body.
  • Profile information. This includes a username, a display name and a profile photo, if you add them.
  • Style information. This covers your answers during setup, such as which closet you shop from, an age range, what you want help with and your style words. It also covers notes that Luna, the in-app stylist, keeps about your preferences.
  • Content you create. This includes your messages to Luna and her replies, saved outfits and the days you plan them for, ideas you save, and links to Pinterest pins you share into the App.
  • Support messages. We keep what you send us when you contact support.

Information created when you use the Services

  • Wardrobe data. When we process your photos, we create cut-out images of each clothing item, item descriptions (such as category, colour and style), cleaned-up product-style pictures and virtual try-on images.
  • Subscription status. We receive whether you have an active Drobe Pro subscription, the plan, and the purchase and renewal dates. Apple processes all payments. We never receive your card or billing details.
  • Technical information. Like most online services, our servers log technical data such as your IP address, request times, the app version and error details. We use it to operate, secure and fix the Services.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, health data or browsing history, and we do not use advertising identifiers.

2. What stays on your iPhone

Some features are designed to run entirely on your device:

  • Selfie and face matching. To find outfit photos of you, the App compares a selfie with the photos in your library using models that run on your iPhone. The selfie and the face data derived from it are saved only on your device. They are not uploaded to us or anyone else. Photos the search finds are shown to you first, and only the photos you approve are uploaded.
  • Photo library access. The App only reads the photos you allow it to access, under the permission you grant in iOS. You can change this permission at any time in iOS Settings.
  • Pinterest pins. When you share a Pinterest pin into Drobe, our server fetches and stores the pin's public image and caption with your account so the pin appears in your Ideas. Finding and naming the clothing in a pin happens on your iPhone. Saved pins are never sent to OpenAI or any other AI service, and try-on is not available for pins.

3. How we use information

  • To provide the Services: building and showing your digital wardrobe, running the Luna stylist chat, planning outfits, creating try-on images and syncing your data across sessions.
  • To create and secure your account, sign you in, and prevent fraud, abuse and misuse.
  • To manage your Drobe Pro subscription and unlock paid features.
  • To provide support and answer your requests.
  • To fix problems and improve the reliability and quality of the Services.
  • To comply with the law and enforce our Terms of Use.

We do not use your photos or other content to train our own or third-party AI models. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. AI processing

Drobe uses OpenAI's API to:

  • identify the clothing items in the photos you select and draw clean product-style pictures of them,
  • generate virtual try-on images from photos of you and the clothes you choose, and
  • power Luna, the stylist chat, which reads your wardrobe item descriptions, your style notes and your messages.

For these tasks, our servers send the relevant photos and text to OpenAI. OpenAI processes API data as our service provider. Under OpenAI's API terms, it does not use that data to train its models. It may keep the data for a limited period, typically up to 30 days, to monitor for abuse, after which it is deleted unless the law requires otherwise. AI output may be inaccurate. See our Terms of Use.

The App also uses AI models that run only on your iPhone. These find your face in your photos, check photos before upload and find the clothing in Pinterest pins. None of their data leaves your device.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share information only in these cases:

  • With service providers who process it on our behalf to run the Services (see section 6).
  • When you ask us to. When you tap "Find similar", the App sends the picture of that item from your iPhone directly to Google Lens so it can search for similar products. When you open a shopping link, the search terms go to the store or search engine you chose, such as Google Shopping, Zara, H&M, SHEIN or Temu. Those services handle your data under their own privacy policies.
  • With friends you choose, where the friends feature is available. Accepted friends can see your username, display name, profile photo and, if you leave wardrobe sharing on, the pictures and descriptions of your wardrobe pieces. They never see your original photos, try-ons, chats or style notes.
  • For legal reasons, when we must comply with the law or a valid legal request, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, the public or Drobe.
  • In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. Your information would remain subject to this policy's protections.

6. Service providers

We use the following providers to run the Services:

ProviderWhat they doData involved
Oracle Cloud (Oracle)Hosts our servers and database at clothes.forma-app.comAll account and wardrobe data stored on our servers
OpenAIAI clothing detection, image generation, try-on and the Luna chatPhotos you select, item descriptions, chat messages, style notes
ClerkSign-up, sign-in, email verification and password managementEmail, name, sign-in identifiers, device and IP data at sign-in
AppleSign in with Apple, App Store payments and subscriptionsApple ID identifiers, purchase records (handled by Apple)
GoogleSign in with Google, if you use it. Google Lens, only when you tap "Find similar"Google account identifiers, the item picture you send to Lens
RevenueCatChecks App Store receipts and manages subscription statusYour Drobe account ID, purchase and subscription records, device and app information

Each provider may use the data only to provide its service to us, or as its own privacy policy describes for services you use directly, such as Sign in with Apple or Google.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on these legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract: to provide the Services you sign up for, including processing your photos, running Luna and managing your subscription.
  • Consent: for photo library and camera access, which you grant in iOS. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing.
  • Legitimate interests: to keep the Services secure, prevent abuse, fix problems and improve reliability, balanced against your rights.
  • Legal obligation: where we must keep or disclose information by law.

Photos of you may show your appearance, but we do not use them to identify you. The face matching that finds your photos runs only on your device.

8. Data retention & deletion

  • We keep your account, photos, wardrobe, chats and other content for as long as your account is active.
  • Deleting your account: in the App, open Profile → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account records and your data folder on our servers, including photos, wardrobe items, try-ons, chats, outfits, saved pins and profile. It also deletes your sign-in account at Clerk. You can also email support@drobe-app.com from your account's email address to ask us to delete it.
  • Deleting the App from your iPhone does not delete your account. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel it in your Apple ID settings.
  • Server logs are kept for a limited time for security and troubleshooting. Copies may remain in backups for a short period before they are overwritten. Providers such as OpenAI may keep data for a short period as described above. We may also keep information where the law requires it, for example purchase records.

9. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy in a portable format,
  • correct inaccurate data,
  • delete your data,
  • restrict or object to certain processing,
  • withdraw consent where we rely on it, and
  • lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise these rights, email support@drobe-app.com. We may need to verify your identity, usually by confirming the email address on your account. We will respond within the time the law requires, normally within one month. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

You can also control access to your photos and camera in iOS Settings, edit or delete content in the App, and delete your account at any time.

10. California residents

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA, as amended by the CPRA) gives you the right to know which personal information we collect, use and disclose. You also have the right to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing". You have the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for using these rights.

  • Categories collected: identifiers (such as email and account ID), customer records, commercial information (subscription status), internet activity within our Services (server logs), audio-visual information (the photos you select), and inferences (style preferences). These are described in section 1. The sources are you, your device and the providers in section 6. The purposes are in section 3.
  • Disclosures: we disclose these categories to the service providers listed above for business purposes only.
  • No sale or sharing: we do not sell or share personal information, as those terms are defined in the CCPA. We have not done so in the past 12 months. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
  • Sensitive personal information: we use account credentials only to sign you in and secure your account. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.

To make a request, email support@drobe-app.com. You may use an authorized agent, and we may ask for proof of their authorization.

11. International transfers

Our servers and some of our providers may be located in countries other than yours, including the United States, and those countries' data protection laws may differ from yours. Where we transfer personal data out of the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards. These include the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK Addendum, or the provider's certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where applicable.

12. Security

We protect your information with technical and organisational measures:

  • All traffic between the App and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS.
  • Your sign-in tokens are kept in the iOS Keychain. Sessions use short-lived tokens.
  • Each account's data is stored separately.
  • Access to our servers is restricted.
  • Secret keys are kept on the server and never in the App.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

13. Children

The Services are not intended for children under 13, or under 16 in the EEA and the UK. We do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

14. Ads, tracking & cookies

The App contains no advertising and no third-party advertising or analytics trackers. It does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies, so it does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. It loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers when you visit.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and tell you in the App or by email before the changes take effect. The current version is always at drobe-app.com/privacy.

16. Contact us

If you have questions or requests about this policy or your data, email support@drobe-app.com.
